Never does any karma affects Me, nor I aspire for the fruits of karma; one who thus knows about Me, never gets entangled in Karma.

God is not interested in doing work, or the results of that action. He is unaffected as he is egoless and desire-less.

Swami Anubhavananda gives this example often, that when you play with a kid, the kid is more interested in winning or losing. But as an adult you don’t care about the outcome of the game.

Similarly, God is uninterested in winning or losing. Everything in this creation is his. What can he gain or lose when everything is his. It’s only us who get entangled in the results of our karma.

One who knows that God works this way, will not get entangled in the karma and karma phala. Because he would also have learnt to see as everything as his.

Divya – God is unaffected by our actions or our fruits of actions. So whatever we acquire in this material world will not lead us to God. Knowing this, our attention on material things automatically drop off, as nothing of this material world will lead us to God(as long as our attention is on God). This way, when we know God, we are not entangled in this material world.
